NARI Kicks off Virtual Study Groups - Offers Remodeling Industry Professionals the Chance to Earn Part of Certification Online

Des Plaines, IL August 4, 2004 -- The National Association of the Remodeling Industry, (NARI) "The Voice of the Remodeling Industry"TM announces that it will be conducting its first ever Certified Remodeler (CR) Virtual Study Group, scheduled to commence on September 13, 2004.

"The Virtual Study Group Program will enable NARI's Members-At-Large and also those Chapter Members who may not have a chapter study group scheduled, to participate in the study group process to prepare for the Certified Remodeler Exam," said NARI Certification Board Chair Don Van Cura, CR, CKBR, CLC. "Additionally, non-NARI members are also invited to participate."

Candidates for Certified Remodeler Specialist (CRS) and Certified Remodeler Associate (CRA) are also eligible to participate in the CR Virtual Study Group, since those certifications also require many of the same components and offer specialists and associates the opportunity to broaden their knowledge base in the area of remodeling.

The program consists of 12 weekly 2-hour "meetings" conducted via teleconference. These meetings will typically be held from 6pm to 8pm Central Time. Additionally, an Internet discussion group will be available for participants to spur further discussion, and post questions and comments as the program progresses.

Participants will receive the newly revised CR Study Guide and two business texts, "Run Your Business So It Doesn't Run You" by Linda Frances and "Smart Business for Contractors" by Jim Kramon.

Participation in these study groups will be limited to the first 15 applicants to ensure each candidate receives the full attention of the group's facilitators. If additional study groups are required, a waiting list will be established and additional study groups will be formed.

To be eligible to take the CR exam a participant must meet these requirements:

·At least 5 continuous years working in the remodeling industry.
·Own or be employed by a company in which the major focus is remodeling.
·Pass a comprehensive Qualification Matrix.
·Pass a comprehensive 550+ question exam.
